A safe place where you can talk in confidence – where you can explore your thoughts and feeling.
I am a fully qualified experienced evidence based therapist in Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT) . I work with adults and young people on a one to one basis in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe setting. I work within an integrative model which includes aspects of person-centred and CBT approaches.
I deliver Cognitive Behaviour Counselling, an Evidence Based Therapy, via the telephone and online. This could be either short term or long term depending on your individual needs.
CBT therapy is a form of counselling which looks at your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It is a therapy which aims to help you to modify and manage your problems more effectively.
A significant area of this is that CBT can give you tools to help you to identify and challenge your negative thoughts and supersedes them with more realistic and constructive rationale. CBT can help you to break free from these negative thinking patterns that you may feel trapped in, thereby, enabling you to feel better about yourself and your situation.
CBT focuses on equipping you with the capability to address current problems in your life and help to relieve the symptoms you’re facing.
CBT can also help you to make links to your past and to discover answers about the start of some of your faulty ideas and beliefs.
Our first therapy session is setting Boundaries. This is the therapeutic relationship or alliance. The parameters within which the work takes place.
I believe that clear boundaries promotes trust between me as the therapist and you as my client, allowing clarity about the purpose and nature of our therapeutic relationship.
This is also, when as a therapist and client we will devise a contract agreed between us. Respecting confidentiality, such as time keeping and personal space. Within my CBT approach, when appropriate, I will set homework to help us achieve our mutual goals.
